Golden stripe pleco

Post by CarlDeller »

Went to my LFS looking for clow pleco and they had these instead.

End of the fins seem to have white on them.

Thanks, in advance

They seemed very territorial against each other if that helps

Juvenile . The white edges fade with age.

Wow really ? I didnt see any bristles would that simply be because of their age or because they are females ?

Thanks for the quick response.

Age. Bristles don't develop until they reach maturity.

Thanks for the help it's greatly appreciated. It's a shame they don't keep the white at the end of the fin.... it's what i like the most out of them.

It is a shame but they are great characters. Not a very shy cat so you will see them out and about. One of mine is very lazy she wont eat the algae and sits at the front of the tank looking for her daily wafer at about 6pm.

Here's Bam Bam my male one hes a little shy of movement same as my female pebbles but if your not near the tank, no loud noises or vibrations happy to come out.

I went back today after work and I still couldn't find the ones they received labelled golden stripe pleco... they let me take a picture of there list of shipping. Could they be talking about the regular common pleco with gold stripes ?

Thanks again guys

There are gold spotted commons, but they're not a stripy fish AFAIK.
I wouldn't put much trust in a stock list that lists assassin snails under the heading 'Amphibians'...
