Otocinclus and possible eggs in the abdomen.

the yellow color in the lower abdomen looks like eggs. Could this be eggs or not

Hi all,
You can't really tell from the photo, but they are likely to be eggs. With eggs you can often see the individual spherical shapes and yellow colour. Try a cooler water change and she may spawn.

I had one Otocinclus that had a swollen abdomen where it wasn't eggs, but it was more of a solid pale mass and you couldn't see any egg shapes when she was on the glass. She died after several months like this, and when I autopsied her it was a large granular tumor.

cheers Darrel

I can never get a good picture because these otos never stay still long enough to take pictures.
