
Just to add a bit of interesting info. They can be very long lived. I had one, 2 1/2 inches long on purchase. It sadly died 14 years later, and measured 11 inches. They are capable of living much longer!
They are called Weather Loach because the Chinese used to keep them in earthenware jars of water. As they are sensitive to barometric pressure, when the weather threatened thunder, the loaches would thrash about, therefore 'forecasting the weather'. Kind Regards, PeterJ.
