Question on feeding parancistrus aurantiacus

Post by Orinocensis1 »

Hello, I recently acquired a group of 4 looks like 2 males and 2 females, from my LFS (might pick up another 2) anyways, I was just wondering what you guys that have this species are feeding them. I know they are omnivores so I have been adding green wafers, and also been adding earthworm sticks (don't know if they are eating it because I also have a couple groups of Cory cats in the tank as well. Just wanted to know what you guys feed them though, thanks in advance.

Mine obliterate fresh zucchini. They also show interest in sinking shrimp pellets.

How is your group doing? Mine will eat almost anything i feed them but seem to really like zucchini and butternut squash. I originally had five that were residing in my 90g planted tank. I lost one right away but the other four acclimated well but always seemed to be breathing hard. I recently moved them and two new ones to my 125 with my L14s. I have a lot of current, filters, and air pumps going on that tank so I thought it would be better oxygenated but lost three of my group. The remaining three still seem to be breathing fast. I think I am having an oxygen issue with them.
