Thanks for reply. Are you going by plumpness of female? As in 2 bottom left look plump. Or something else?

Re: Sexing young L333
these look below 2" in size I'd say way too young to sex.
males can be fat too that's not a good indicator.
how large are they?

These are much to young and small to sex, look like to be only 4-5cm and 6-7 months old. I find it takes at least 1-1,5 years of age and around 8-10cm in length to determine the sex of these kind of scribbled Hypancistrus.
Did you notice some of the fish are showing signs of snobnoose?

Re: Sexing young L333
I didnt take notice of the size when I said 3,3 or 4,2. I was looking at body and head shape. I the fish are about 5 or 6 cm its very difficult to sex them. How big are these fish?

They are just a little under 2"
I did think they were a little too young too sex but thought I would post just incase. Will let them grow for a year then get pictures again.
Thanks all for looking anyway.

Re: Sexing young L333
Update. Well at least I know now I have both sexes.
Just was about to give tank a good clean and spotted a little fry. Yay. I can only see 4 or 5 fry but at least I know they are breeding
I had no clue they were spawning. What an awesome surprise.
Should I put any different food in for the young? Veggie food?

Re: Sexing young L333
I have not L0333 but L066 have spawned and L201 and L004. I have many babies. They are in same tank with parents (there is not big carnivore fish). Babies like small granules and when I put granules all get foods.
I also put New life spectrum grow-food to babies. Very small granules. It is good that they get many times in day food but little. I change water quite often also.
All babies and older plecos like very much zuccini. I take skin away but many people wash only. I put it to spoon to the bottom.

This thread maybe a little to old, I have found out over time the best way to sex juveniles is to vent them.
