48"x24" footprint

Want to buy/barter for a 4 foot plexi tank. Preferably 48"x24"xmax. 24"(LxWxH) which would put it at right around 100 us gallons.

Also looking to rehome 3 Synodontis alberti

All of this would have to be somewhat local as I don't know how to ship fish (unless someone wants to talk me through it). And the tank for obvious reasons.

Thanks mcaquatic, that could work as long as its plexiglass or acrylic. I guess I could make a small modification to my base which is 4' solid. I see you are on the east coast, but are you aware of something available?

A 120 is very heavy. I got mine into an apartment by sliding it on couch cushions. Its now in a basement, which required 2 people. Its going to take a moving company to get it out.

I can handle my acrylic 80 with one hand.

Psy got it right. glass at that size is just a monster to move. Too heavy!

ok, I guess I didn't think they were/are that bad. My 16 yr old nephew and I carried my 125's into the basement on our own.

I would try for acrylic instead of plexiglass. Good luck with your search and post pictures when its set up.

thanks nvcichlids, if I were more secure in my living situation, I would consider glass, but not happening right now. I've lugged big glass tanks around before and have had my fill with that.

If you are keeping primarily catfish, you might look into a "frag tank". They ones with a 4'x2' footprint are typically 60 gallons - 12" or 80 - 16" tall. They are much easier to handle than taller tanks, even if they are heavier than acrylic ones.

Thanks verbal, I am aware of those types of tanks. In my experience people tend not to let go of those tanks so easily. And the 12" height is not all that great for viewing, at least for me anyway. I am totally open to buying the 80 or 16"high, but haven't had any offers yet. I am going to look at a 4x2x2 today and we'll see what happens.
