This species was available in the aquarium trade outside of China (in the US ca. 2003 and the UK ca. 2005). Not sure if it's being exported any more.

A quick lunchtime trip to an importer near my office revealed a single individual of T. trilineatus for sale (at just over $20 a pop). I would have bought it, if not for the fact that it was not looking in great shape.

So yes, these are still in the trade.
