What are these Malawi Catfishes?
These species were seen on a dive in Malawi lake (Africa).

Awesome! The pics belong in the Cat-eLog if only possible.
What are those things on the first cat's head? Crustaceans, barnacles like on whales etc.? Looks to me a bit like fish lice. Can be?

They are not ectoparasites. Believe it or not, those are actually pits that are a normal part of the skin. A google search got me to foveolate = pitted (having pits), which ties in with the explanation from HH.
