L091 color question.

Post by yayfish24 »

Does the orange on l091's change due to diet or age? Ive noticed that one of mine seems to have quite a bit more orange on it then when i got it about 6 months ago. Has anyone noticed theirs do that?

Haven't notice any change in the orange colouration of my L091s. But I have seen some sickly ones around the web with dull orange colouration. Health may have a direct influence on the vibrant orange colouration of L091s.
Aside from the change in orange colouration, anything else different about your L091 lately? Try posting a close up shot of your fish.

It gets a bit less with age. Usually after 10 cm you will notice differences.

For the first month having him i didnt notice him eating but he now has no problem being a pig and eating everything he can. It just seems he has more orange in his dorsal then he did when i got him. Ill try to get a pic tonight when i feed him.

The base colouration can vary quite a bit based on mood (including how settled the fish is), ranging from a brown/gray with dark spost colour to almost completely black, but I don't see much difference in the way the orange appears.
