As this is an international forum, and fishes do have local names, please use the scientific, Latin name
I for one have no clue what an eeltail catfish is.

Wecome to the Planet!
Eeltail Catfishes is the common name for the family of Plotosidae.
They are not commonly kept but appear on this forum every now and then. To my regret, I never owned one. You can look at each data/care sheet of the fishes of your interest, like this one for Neosilurus ater http://www.planetcatfish.com/common/spe ... cies_id=35 and see registered keepers...

I scrolled through this thread, hit the pics, and almost died from a combination of jealousy and cuteness overload.
Neosilurus ater is #1 on my list of "wants", have yet to track one down with anything resembling success!

Re: Who keeps Eeltails ?
Welcome to the Planet, mate! I'd suggest giving Wes Wong of Rare Fish (CA) a ring or writing him an email. He professes he can get any fish or so he told me several times. In fact, he said he cannot get only a handful of fish, mostly from the Huso genus. He can even get a Giant Mekong Catfish (farmed). His prices are reasonable and his reputation is quite good. He is a registered vendor on MFK - so you can find his section there in the "Marketplace" forum. He comes here but quite rarely and offers rare (in the US) fish like wels
