O.K., so I accidentally bred my cherry barbs while I was cycling a quarantine tank

I guess it's cycled!

However, since I wasn't expecting it I didn't take out the parents and they ate all but one of the eggs, larvae, and fry.

I didn't discover the one remaining until I introduced some corys for "vacuuming." I was making sure they were acclimated and this tiny 2 mm fry swims out from behind one of them. I caught it and went to get food and accommodations. I got back, put him in a little floating container, came back w/ food, and he had escaped. I took the corys out to try to find him again, but after a week gave up and reintroduced them. I immediately found the fry again. Do the corys just scare it out of hiding, or is there some other strange underlying reason for theses coincidental appearances? Just wondering.
