Pleco indentification please..1/2 BN 1/2 reg pleco?

I bought this male as a normal BN pleco.. It has the bristles.. but not the normal spot pattern on body.It is also large.. almost 5 inches. could it be half BN and half regular pleco?

Although the pic isn't particularly clear it does look like a common BN & the colours can be quite variable.

There is no way it could be half BN half pleco
