Treating plecos with levimasole

Post by Hmong_xiong »

Well I bought a bunch of java moss from a local breeder not knowing that the plants carried something extra in the water. Now most of my expensive fish has internal parasites. I was reading online about the dosage. I want to make sure I got this right so I don't kill anything. Is it 5 grams of levamisole for every 100 gallons or is it 1 gram for every 100 gallons? I did a lot of research prior to posting this? Anything I need to know that could be helpful? Thanks!

Hi all,
I'd be surprised if your parasites came with the Java Moss, but you can treat internal nematodes like Camallanus in catfish with levamisole at 2mg/l.

Have a look at "Loaches on-line" from thread <http://www.loaches.com/Members/shari2/l ... chloride-1>.

Darrel,

Thank you! I treated them successfully today!! No deaths and prior to the fish I never had internal parasites before. I talk to a few people and they also had the same problem I had when buying plants from this breeder.
