Hello,

L182 is a definite possibility, and the size adds even more credibility to this. However, as I'm sure everyone on here has read in the past, spotted Ancistrus (without at least a type locality or even country of origin) are rather difficult to ID, and usually not even possible to venture a guess. I haven't been around the wholesalers for a couple years, but know there was a similar species that used to come out of Brazil shipments. The wholesaler I dealt with at the time even took the added precaution of separating them from the other species they were shipped with to get a premium for them.

I know this isn't much help, but the best I'm capable of.

She looks nearly identical to the fish that I've been calling an L182 female for 5 or 6 years. A very nice fish. I had one spawn from her 8" male before I lost him. Good luck finding her a mate! They are lovely fish.

If those are orange spots I see on the fins, she looks just like my Rio Ucayali male.
