Ancistrus Spotted Medusa L255?
Ancistrus Spotted Medusa L255?
Hello,
The pleco in the pic was sold to me as L255, the spotted Medusa pleco. However after a quick photo comparison, i'm not even sure if it is in the Ancistrus genus!
Can anyone help me identify this fish?
Thank you very much!

Yeah maybe, although P. Anthrax (or any other Pseudolithoxus from what I see) does not have the white tip on on the dorsal and caudal fin. Same body shape as Pseudolithoxus though.
Thanks for the reply!

Definitely Pseudolithoxus, and looks like P. nicoi to me. P. nicoi aren't as common in the trade as P. anthrax as far as I have seen, so good find!

It is P. nicoi, at least in Germany this species has been available the last few months.

Not really understanding this thread. That picture has never been tagged as a L-255 and I still have these fish in quarantine.munchate wrote:Hello,

Indeed, that is odd.Not really understanding this thread. That picture has never been tagged as a L-255 and I still have these fish in quarantine.
