I'm not sure what constitutes a "gold spot Ancistrus" - it's not a common name in the Cat-eLog and searchig the web seems pretty poor on results too. I'm guessing this is "exporter" or "wholesaler" naming a fish they can't identify based on "it has golden spots, let's call it gold spot Ancistrus".
Now, as you may be aware, identifying Ancistrus is far from easy. There are 140-odd species in the Cat-eLog, and most of them are some nuance of brown with lighter spots.
Any chance you can find out where it originates?

The lfs is useless for determinig where it was caught. They would just tell me the name of the wholesaler they got it from. Thanks for responding MatsP.
