What corys to 350-liter tank with plecos

Post by bluefish1 »

Hi!
I`m planning to buy new 350-liter tank to my rescue pleco and take few other to tank. My question is, can i take some corys? My mind the problem is warm water? Plecos need 27 Celsius, so what corys can live there? Many corydoras species, what i have read, is mensiod that the good temparature is 20-24 Celsius. Any ideas?

Mats is right to mention specific species, Corys are distributed across much of South America and only some of them will tolerate constant high temps. I've collected many species of Corys in the wild, all in the dry season, and I can't say I've ever found one in 90F. However, many Corys are farm bred and will have different tolerances than their wild conspecifics.

What species of pleco is it? Many of them will live well at lower than 27C. Lowering the temperature may help the fish, will save you money and will allow you to select from a wider pool of species.
