K thanks, I do like him in my tank.

Whats the typical behaviour of these guys? I recently bought two common plecos and he has chased one of them about a few times. Are they also ok with Neon and glowlight tetras?

Thanks

No.......... They come from different parts of the world they require different ph, dh, and kh levels...... I am really NOT trying to be a D#*k about this but....... Someone please explain to me WHY???? Why do you buy fish without knowing at the Very Least their basic care requirements and compatibility? I'm sorry but this is just something that erks the hell out of me.... Do you realize how big of a tank even one common plec requires? Assuming you are talking about or which are both commonly refered to as "common plecos". Boromir... My suggestion would be to either set up a dedicated tank for your syno and take one of the plecs back or take the syno and 1 of the common plecs back. And please take this as constructive criticism.... If you are going to buy a fish you have no clue about take a pic of it at the pet store and post it somewhere to get the proper ID, Research that fishes proper care requirements, make sure you can properly care for that species with the tanks you already have set up..... Then and only then buy the fish... I have personally asked for ID's of fish I had already purchased before but, the only reason I bought the fish is because I was all but 100% sure of the fishes ID and was only looking for conformation of my ID and knew that even if I was wrong I still had the tanks to care for the species I purchased. Again I was not trying to be mean but only educate people about buying fish without knowing their proper care requirements....

GhostArcher-Everyone was new to fishkeeping at one time and it is sometimes hard to know as a newer keeper what is right...We just recently went through a run of people ranting and name calling about things similar to this that took awhile to get cleaned up...if you are trying to be helpful please take the time to explain why, it is much more helpful to the OP and others that will read the post than giving out a personal rant which just drives people away, reflects badly on PlanetCatfish and is not helpful to anyone.

Boromir-The behavior of these hybrids can be variable depending on the ancestry of the parents and which it takes after...if I was to assume I would think it to be partially secretive and will protect its chosen area much like a typical congo syno, this fish looks like it has the potential to get 7 to 10 inches long, is adaptable to water conditions and even though it may not consciously hunt the small tetras it will probably not pass up a late night snack when it encounters these small fish in their "sleepy" state at night.

A better choice of tankmates would be some of the Phenacogrammus or midsize barbs of Africa, something a little bigger than your two choices.
