LFS Said Butterfly Pleco
Was in the local Lfs looking for Scarlet Badis(Danio Danio) and saw the guy in a tank with a crab and one eye. The tank wasn't labeled and the guy said it was a butterfly pleco. Since I thought i was getting a great deal do to injury($3). I didn't make him look it up. I posted this in a different forum on planet catfish asking about the injury when a poster said it was not a L052, which was what I assumed(perhaps foolishly). So what is he? Do I need prices from different angles?

is what I thought, but if it's still a juvenile it can be hard to tell. H. furunculus seems to be less common than H. debilittera or L340.

Re: LFS Said Butterfly Pleco
4" is big enough it should have adult coloration, so I'll stick with H. furunculus.

Re: LFS Said Butterfly Pleco
Hate to say it guys but using the other objects in the photos as references that fish is about 1.5-2" long at best.
In the first photo it is next to a standard UG filter lift tube which is 1" in inside diameter. In the second photo there is what appears to be a 1" pvc t fitting. The inside diameter of that is 1.25".
However I don't disagree with the ID. Just the size reference.

Sticking to my previous ID. It's a rather pretty specimen, actually!
