Re: new fish tank
You provide fish lists without asking questions. So I guessed your questions are about 1. and 2. and, as we established, not about the sizes anymore.

Re: new fish tank
Sounds possibly like an internal parasitic infestation. If you convince yourself that this might be one cause, I'd try a nice, safe dewormer, like praziquantel.

Re: new fish tank
Any LFS. A prepared med PraziPro is popular. I bought 1 kilo of pure praziquantel from Fishman Chemicals.
IMO you need to make sure that this more than a shot in the dark, as I tried to say before. Collect more opinions and to do that provide a better description and adequate-quality photos of the entire tanks and the fish affected.

Re: new fish tank
As babies and juvies, I tend to think so, making sure that the size differences don't let someone eat/attempt to eat someone else. Keeping in mind I have little idea about JD and L#s.
If starting from babies, it would be perhaps 2-4 years before I'd start thinking about upgrading.

I read on page 2 the topic starter is 12, perhaps 13Viktor Jarikov wrote:If starting from babies, it would be perhaps 2-4 years before I'd start thinking about upgrading.
That will imply he will be 17 in 4 years time, and therefore upgrading will still be determined by his parents
I have no clue about them, but found out many parents are quite hard to convince a tank needs upgrading - mine were, but also most parents I read about on forums.
Generally we say it is better to first get the tank, and than let the fish grow into it - because regardless what happens (people can get unemployed, for instance) the larger tank has been taken care of. I think in this case, where options will be determined by parents, this wisdom might be more needed.
Thus, I'd advise (your tank is 48 inches long and 20 inches broad) not to get fishes whch grow over 4 inshes. Examples of suitable fish might be seen amongst Brachyrhamdia - these have the same long wiskers as Pimelodus have.

Re: new fish tank
well bas pels it is 48 in. long 20in.broad and also 25 in.tall also to that list i would like to add a banded leporinus also bas that is parent i live with my mom and she is picky when it comes to money and on our tank stand the biggest tank we can put on there has to be 55 in. or less so i could possibably upgrade to a 100 or 110 gallon tank

I know nothing about datnoids. The fish you mention seem a reasonable mix but sorobim prefer to be in groups & can be easily spooked or worried by inquisitive tankmates. You may need to keep a close eye on them

Give it some time. They are skittish, in general, esp. when small(ish), but your first indications hold promise.CatfishPownage63 wrote:funny, he dose not sound like this, he dances as if he was a glass catfish and i have accidentally bumped the tank and he didn't even flinchRichard B wrote:sorobim prefer to be in groups & can be easily spooked or worried by inquisitive tankmates.

Tankmates that like checking out things and other tankmates, e.g., with their barbels or what they taste like or what they are doing in their territory, etc.

Re: new fish tank
the biggest tank i can keep on the stand that i have can't be more than 60" L by 20" W by 25" T because my mom dose not want to spend more money on a tank stand so the biggest tank i can put on the would probaly be a 125 gallon tank which should be good into adulthood right? but now anywho the next step is to convince her to get the tank. if i canCatfishPownage63 wrote:hey guy could my 2 and my be okay with 2 silver datnoids (American Tiger),a delhezi bichir,,and a live together in my 82 gallon tank

Re: new fish tank
I thought you already had your 83 gal running, no?
Sure 125 gal would be better but you know my opinion about the proper tank sizing, so I cannot add anything more, besides you chose a different point of view for yourself where the width of the tank can be close to the length of your fish - something you are certianly entitled to choose. We can only advise.
So, what I am trying to say is that I hope others will chime in because I dont see what else I can add to answer your last question.
Please, don't read hostility in this, only logic: I wish nothing but good and the best to you, CatfishPownage!

Re: new fish tank
yes i'am running my 83 gallon but i wanted to convince my mom get me a 125 because that is the biggest tank my sand can hold, but the dimensions have to be 60 in. L by 20 in. L by 25 in. T because I'm so little i can barley reach the bottom of my tank also those are the exact dimensions of my stand, except my stand is 36 in. T

Re: new fish tank
I'm not that familiar with standard tank dimensions outside of the regularly encountered tanks, but a 125gal tank that stays 20" or less in width and does not exceed 60" can only increase in height. With the species you're interested in, the footprint of the tank is what's most important. A 4x2x2' 120 gallon is the next size up in width in common tanks, but is outside of your maximum allowable tank size. That 125 you're talking about would likely be expensive due to the height of the glass, and may not give you more freedom in stocking than what you have now.
Tank dimensions aside, do you still have the cichlids and eel or have you moved those out?

Re: new fish tank
My "120 tall" is 60x18x25. I too would much prefer a larger footprint at the expense of the diminished height for my tank. Sounds like not an option for the OP.CatfishPownage63 wrote:60 in. L by 20 in. L by 25 in. T
