Akysis vespa
Akysis vespa
I have 6 Akysis vespa and have had them for almost 3 yrs now. From the looks of it there are 2 females and 4 males. I have them in a 44 gallon corner tank with endlers, 2 pair of brown bn plecos, a pair of rice fish and some cherry shrimp manage to survive in there. They keep my endler population down which is good. I have always wanted to breed these fish but cannot get any info on it. I do know that they act strange after I do a water change and this time they have driven me nuts. From what I can tell the females are doing a dolphin dance at the top of the tank. Sounds like they are jumping out of the water but they are not. They will do this splashing all through the night and sometimes during the day. Does anyone know what the devil they are up to? They have been doing it since last Friday and not slowing down. Any insight into these fish would be welcome. Also I do not know how long they live and since they are wild caught I do not know how old they are other than the almost 3 yrs I have had them.

There is some information on breeding this species in the original description.
Re: Akysis vespa
I don't see anything about breeding them.
