Anyone know what is going on with this L001? Our water params are great. I wonder if it is trauma?
Thanks in advance!

I think you're going to need to give a better description of whats going on than that pic. It doesn't seem to be showing much.

Re: What is wrong with my Sailfin?
My apologies as I thought it was extremely noticeable. One eye is about 3-4 times the size of the other eye.naturalart wrote:I think you're going to need to give a better description of whats going on than that pic. It doesn't seem to be showing much.

Re: What is wrong with my Sailfin?
No one has any advise on this? I did a significant water change already and it is getting worse. Could it be Pop-eye (Exophthalmia), Corneybacteriosis, or Septicemia? The eye isn't cloudy or anything, it is just really big. Please help! I don't know what to do. I have meds and stuff but I know loricariids are sensitive.

Re: What is wrong with my Sailfin?
If this is something that didn't occur recently, it could possibly be a congenital deformity that is beyond treatment. I have seen several panaques and pseudas in the trade with deformities such as irregular shape/set of fins and disproportionate size of eyes too.
The important thing is there is no cloudiness in the eye that indicates an infection leading to blindness. I could be wrong but I'd just accept the fact that this L001 is kinda "special".

Re: What is wrong with my Sailfin?
Have you got a quarantine tank where you could treat the fish?
If this is a recent thing than I suppose I would treat with Mela-fix in a tank alone.

I have had this fish for months. We just noticed it this week. I have two quarantine tanks but they are only 5.5 gallons. I'd feel bad putting this guy in there but I guess I have no choice.

It is infact popeye. Put him in quarantine and give him somekind of medication, you should ask from local retailer?
