Breeding L240s - Tips ??

Post by vanillarum »

Hey gang. I was wondering if anyone has any advice on breeding L240s. I have a group of 5 females and 2 males. They have been together for a little while. Any suggestions ? They are all (but 1 of the females) close to 9" in length, and are set up in an 80 gal tank that is 48" x 18". Thanx for any help and/or suggestions.

Make som largre water changes (50%) for few days and then raise the temperature to 28-29 degrees!
The conductivity should be less than 250 uS/cm

i have a group of six. 2 males and 4 females. i feed them whole silversides and shrimp two times a week, and hikari wafers the rest of the time. i never turn on the lights and do 50% water changes twice a week. i keep them in an eight foot long tank by themself. they usually breed twice a month getting around 45 fry every time. also ph is 7 and temp 80F

pleco rob, thanx. What type of shrimp do you use ? And FROZ silversides (thawed, of course) ? My temps are a bit higher, so I will lower them and see what happens. And Hikari wafers ? Algae wafers ? Thanx again.
