Any one have success with L-183s?

Post by coder14 »

I'm setting up a tank to spawn a pair of L-183s. They have spawned together once before. Has anyone been real successful with them that has some tips as to what the tank should look like and what the waterparameters and filtration and foods. Any help is greatly appreciated thanks. (The tank is a 40 gallon breeder currently running a sponge filter, but I'm installing a powerhead with pre filter as well.)

Very soft, (under 80ppm) and acidic tannic water. I kept them at 82 degrees with the best success, but I tend to overfilter and understock my aquariums. pH below 6 worked best with mine. They aren't difficult, just very particular 8-} .

I've spawned hundreds now for the past years. No problem, just like Barbie says, get the water right and give them plenty of room. Females can get very aggressive so lot's of hiding space is needed.
Every great achievement begins with a dream ;-)
