What was your first catfish?

Mine was a striped raphael cat. That my crayfish ate, from tail onto the dorsal fins.......

When I was nine (Summer '74), I adopted the 16G tank from my dad.

In that tank were Zebra-fish, Platy's, Black Molly's, a Chinese Algae Eater and a Kuhli Loach.
The first two fish I bought myself were a Corydoras paleatus and a C aeneus.

been hooked ever since

A Brown Bullhead was my first Catfish. It was totally fascinating compared to the various other Coldwater fish I was keeping at the time. To think that was only 18 months ago...

No, sorry, that was misleading. I was meaning my first catfish - I have never kept Crustacea.

A Zebra Plec was my first catfish given to me by a friend from his 30ltr tank. It now seems much happier in my 175ltr tank with 2 more Zebras and a host of other middle and upper swimmers. :D

my first catfish would be the one in my signature, a bumblebee jelly cat :) webpage has more info on it.

I love him, he is in an 8 gallon tank right now, soon to move to a 30 gallon or bigger within the next month or so. he is happy and healthy, well fed. he is currently tank mates with a common pleco of similair size :) they will be moving to a larger tank soon, then I will be hunting for more bumblebees to add ;) they will be raised in my 8 gallon until they are big enough to live with the other BB cat (might be a ten gallon grow up tank if I can get one cheap, then the 8 gallon will go to guppies, gonna raise and try to spawn them to raise some feeder fish to give as an occasional treat ;))

And that´s how I learned alway to keep my aquaria on something stabile.

A Liposarcus pardalis named Pizza, I got her in '91 and she's still alive and healthy at 13". She's the reason I love plecos/catfish!

My first catfish was Corydoras bondii! I was 10 years old, and I kept it with a wild form of Guppy.
