Centromochlus heckeli questions

I'm aready setting up a tank for Pseudohemiodon sp. peru and want to set up another tank for

Centromochlus heckelii

as main nhabitants.
The tank is a 120x50x50 size.

In the CatElog isn't mentioned a temperature to keep them.
At wat temperature should they be kept ? I've seen that they are kept in a tank without heating at 20 degrees.

I like to keep them with 1 other catfish specie and 1 Non catfish specie.
Is it possible t keep them with Tatia intermedia ?
If not what are suitable species to combine with the heckeli ?

It would be fine if it where species that live in the same area as the heckeli, but if there arent any species from that area to combine with, it won't be a problem to combine with species from other area's.

Actually, I think

Centromochlus heckelii

would fit with the

Pseudohemiodon

biotope. One likes living on open sand and one likes open swimming above sand.

As a lowland Amazon species of larger rivers (I think?) I'd start them off at 27C, which would be ideal for the

Pseudohemiodon

also.

Yup, Rupert is spot on, when I collected these in the wild it was in open river above sand banks with, of all things, pufferfish.

I would not describe them as "slow eating"!

If food hits the bottom, they're onto it like a flash. I agree though, that if the food doesn't hit the bottom there might be a problem.

I've not kept C. heckelii, but I can't imagine they're that voracious?

I've meant slow eating compare to Centromochlus.

Offcourse I can't compare heckeli to Tatia intermedia, to me Tatia are voracious with food, and I've heard and I'm not sure, heckeli are voracious also.

I would've thought the hardest part was obtaining C. heckelii!

I think it's a match worth setting up & feeding can be adjusted if problems arise surely?

Centromochlus heckelli eat in the top 75% of the tank, Pseudohemiodon in the bottom 10%. Now, the woodcat might learn to eat from the bottom but I can't see them being more voracious than, for example, the Satanoperca or Hyphessobrycon I keep with the flat cats.

I think the combination of Centromochlus heckeli with Pseudohemiodons is great.
What about the current the heckeli's need, is that current sufficiant for Pseudohemodon ?
