Tooltip API
I am not sure if there is any interest for something like this from people other than myself. I would love to see a JavaScript Tooltip API similar to http://www.wowhead.com/tooltips. I reference species on PlanetCatfish all the time on my personal blog. It would be awesome to have a thumbnail and possiby some brief details in the form of a tooltip appear when users hover over the links. What do others think?

Re: Tooltip API
I developed this about a year and a half ago. I posted on several good hobby sites (the BCA in January 2011) and there was no interest in it. In fact people were rather suspicious in some cases.
I agree it's a good idea. The site using it would need to put a one line javascript include in the page header, but this is common practice and easy to do given basic tech skills. Simpler than, for example, adding google adverts.
Anyway, the thing with features like this is usage. If I put it into production then I have to support it. If one or more larger sites started using it then this would make it worthwhile to support.
That said, I REALLY agree it is a great idea.
