i have 9 l134's 3 of the males are fanning, they defently arnt on eggs, they been fanning just over 2 weeks now, what else could be making them do that?

How is the breathing of the fish? If nice and slow and regular I wouldn't be nervous and go with @Verbal. Maybe showing off to the females.
But if breathing heavily it could be that you have a low O2 level!

Hi mate,sorry can't help you with the fanning issue,Just my opinion but I think you should increase the temperature in your tank Peckoltia compta like it hot, around 28.C plus not (24.C)

When ever I have had any plecs that have fanned fins when not with eggs its not been a good thing ! either low oxygen or a parasite on the fish.

I would raise the temperature and provide strong aeration and water circulation.
If it is only the males that are fluttering their fins and their respiration is no different than the other specimens I would attribute that to their attempts to attract potential mates.
Since treating them with flubendazole and praziquantel is fairly benign you could treat them prophylactically without causing any problems. I would definitely do this if all of them have high respiration rates.
Chances are that they are OK but they really do seem to be happiest when kept at about 28*C.
