Taking pictures to identify?

Post by Lepidosauria »

I'm goign to do a bit of a major overhual on my 54 gal tank and I'm finally gonna try and identify this one pleco I have but I have no idea where to start. What angels of pics are most useful? What should I put it in? How should I best light it, my digi doesnt have a flash (its just a cheapo one)? Can anyone give me some other pointers? Can someone also suggest to me the best way to cut down on caffine (if your confused by this remark see my post in Speak Easy, I've drank too much coffee today)?

Thanks for any help,

Clayton

Side view, top view, one of mouth.

Put it in a small plastic tank with not too much water. Should minimize problems with reflections.

Yes, it should. I was thinking plastic because these are usually thinner and you will have fewer problems with reflections that way.

Grr, that pleco has hid in a big chunk of Malaysian Driftwood. There is no way I'm gonna get him out. Oh well I gues I'll have to wait till I resetup that system in a couple of days.
