C123 spawned

Almost a year ago, I acquired 6 wild caught Corydoras C123 from a member of my local aquarium club. They hadn't shown any signs of breeding activity, although they looked quite healthy and some appeared to be plump females. I was keeping them in a community tank with other Corydoras and some guppies.

About two weeks ago, I moved the C123 into a new 20 gallon long, by themselves. I was almost immediately rewarded with eggs all over the glass. I removed about half of the eggs into a 5 gallon tank that I use for growing fry. I left the other half of the eggs in the 20 long. After another day, and more egg laying, I decided to remove the parents and put them back in a 15 gallon tank with other Corydoras.

Now, when I shine a flashlight on the 20 gallon long tank, early in the morning, I see lots of little Corydoras zipping around, especially on some magnolia leaves littering the substrate (pool filter sand). I've been feeding them 50 micron Golden Pearls, Ken's Growth Meal, and microworms.

Haven't seen any fry in the 5 gallon tank, but it is possible that there are some in there, too.

Thanks to both of you. I'm pretty excited about it. These are the only C123s I've ever seen, so I can believe there aren't many in the U.S.

My Corydoras sp. C123 ("Yellow Cat") have spawned again. Once again, moving them into a new tank seems to stimulate spawning.

I seem to have much better survival rates leaving the eggs in the tank while moving all the other fish, including the parents, out of the tank. Moving the eggs hasn't worked for me, perhaps because the eggs are relatively small compared to other Corydoras eggs.
