Another New One - PIC ADDED - 8/19

Post by Coryologist »

Greetings. After weeks of teasing me with eggs that were 100% non-viable, my C. parallelus finally got off the pot and had a new spawn with two dozen eggs, at least half of which were good. That's getting the week of to a great start. :)

Of course, I have been doing this long enough to know that getting eggs doesn't mean a whole lot, but at least this beautiful group of fish is moving in the right direction. One of my favorite species which I have been anxiously awaiting to deliver a good spawn. As we like to say, "fingers crossed." Cheers. - Frank

Well said, but they're moving which is always a good sign :-BD

Well, this group of C. parallelus are really starting to get into the swing of things. Another spawn, overnight, of around 20 eggs, 15 of which look perfectly viable. One or two more spawns and this group should be having successful spawns on a regular basis. Time will tell. Cheers. - Frank

Greetings. Twenty-one eggs, today and all perfectly viable. I believe they are finished learning the ropes. Actually was able to get these eggs into a tank by themselves so I will know if I am getting any fry. All the others were in a mixed fry tank. Tank space is at a premium, at the moment.

The more I look at this group of fish the more I realize how strikingly beautiful they are. Definitely in my Top 10 favorite species. :-)

I have not photographed them yet, but I certainly will, tomorrow. Cheers. - Frank

Very pretty corey. Probably one of the larger ones, yes? Congrats on the eggs!
