Centromochlus perugiae
Could a pair or small group depending on whats best be kept in a 36x12x18" tank along with 6 Laetacara dorsigera (hoping for a pair so once they have formed 4 will be getting rehomed) and 3 Bunocephalus coracoideus. The tank has loads of twisting branches one end and 4 coconut cave hidden amongst some slate so hiding places should be a problem. The Laetacara are quite gental feeders so i dont think there should be any worry of them being out competed for food.
Cheers

Re: Centromochlus perugiae
Sounds like an ideal set-up for the perugiae. They will not be out competed for food as the perugiae's preferred feeding zone is the surface of the tank. Initially they will be shy so you may have to feed them after the lights have gone out. They love frozen bloodworms, frozen glassworms, and probably the most convenient food for you to feed, freeze-dried bloodworms.

I don't think you'd have any problems stocking 6 in that tank. They are sexable if you want to try to breed them, and the fry are quite easy to raise.

I would not keep the Cichlids in with these catfish if I were trying to breed the catfish.

Re: Centromochlus perugiae
Anyone else noticed that there aren't many, if any, of these for sale this year? I haven't seen a single online store or brick and mortar one, at least around here, selling any.
But if you tame me, then we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the world. To you, I will be unique in all the world..... You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed.

My C. perugiae are breeding. They are available from time to time from online suppliers. TangledUpInCichlids.com currently has them in stock if you are looking for some right at this moment. I hope to have some available for the Catfish Convention.

I've noticed this as well. I'm currently in San Diego and a LFS here has 4 in stock, but they said that they get theirs from a local breeder.Taratron wrote:Anyone else noticed that there aren't many, if any, of these for sale this year?
