Can this be TSNxLeiarius pictus, vs. TSNxL.marmoratus?
Another beautiful hybrid that I have never seen before, not with such a large dorsal fin anyway. I have seen and owned very similar ones which are common and which I thought could be TSN x L. marmoratus or L. longibarbis. Non-MFK'ers probably won't be able to see the pics but not sure. http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forum ... uot-hybrid

Not sure how I feel about Hybrids especially as I own a cracking 24" RTCxTSN cross but these ones in the link are fantastic

I think they are made for food in the first and foremost place. Does this alleviate your animal-rights concerns?

I agree with Hybridization for food purposes but not for commercial or more to the point for the purpose of sale within the Fish retail industry.
Allot of these fish are just "designer fish" created to make a Buck
Ive seen some real shockers.
But again who am I to judge???
Some of them do look superb & as Ive stated elsewhere I have a TSN x RTC so cannot be too critical.
My concern with Hybridization is where does it end?

I'm not opposed to hybrids for "animal rights concerns", but because the end result is that the pure species are lost to the hobby.Viktor Jarikov wrote:Does this alleviate your animal-rights concerns?

Good point, Mike. Thanks. I suppose one cannot condemn producing hybrids for food. But once that happens, the hybrids inevitably find their way into the ornamental fish trade. It's an unsolvable conundrum, IMHO.

You probably mean ? That one looks close but for one, the dorsal is of different shape. Other things are discussed here on page 2: http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/view ... 1&start=20CatfishPownage63 wrote:i think i found the fish your looking for now it only shows a baby but this might be the one pseudoplatystoma sp. hybrid (2)
