Converted directly to US$, based on what I saw at the LFS last weekend, prices are all for juvi "LFS-size" fish;
L190 royal $119
L27 N/A
L330 N/A
L200 hi-fin $144
L014 $135
L046 $307 upwards*
L066 $30-50
L128 $135
L129 $150 (only just had one small shipment recently imported).
L114 $135 (might get the odd L600 mistakenly thrown in?)

We are fairly restricted with what we can get as we have a "green list" rather than a "red list" for allowable imports. Occasionally other things come thru with mistaken identity, but not very often. This isn't a comprehensive list of what is and isn't available here, just what I can recall from my last visit to the best LFS in our biggest city Auckland.

*L046 was unavailable for many years, but a recent flurry of imports came in around 12-18 months ago and were selling for anywhere up to US$700 each for juvi's. Since then they haven't been imported again but there are at least a couple of breeding colonies being established, but I haven't seen any young offered for sale yet (some may have been passed on with out being publicly offered), the general speculation seem to be that the price will probably settle around the US$230-$350 price.

I should also add that things like L104, L270, L066, L002 etc that are established and being bred here are readily available from the breeders and somethings the LFS for a much lower price than the imports that aren't bred here, some for as little as US$15.

There rare pleco in israel such as the L25 & L46 i dont own them, because i dont have a proper tank for them.
L25 (35cm) cost about 700$
L46 (3-5) cost about 250$
there is a lot more pelco here but i dont own them so i didnt right down

Hey eyal8a,

In Belgium for example (LFS), you pay for L46, 3-5 cm, around 125 $

It really is a lot more complex than just comparing prices across the board. Air freight from Bogota to Miami or LA is a lot less than from Colombia to the middle east. There will also be trnshipper costs as your fish in Israel are making a stop in South Africa or Europe before arriving. Lastly, local factors like the size of the hobby market, national and regional economies, employee salaries, and costs associated with running a retail store all have a large impact.

In the end, the fish themselves have no intrinsic value. You can fly to where they come from (in most cases) and get them yourself for free. The price you pay at the fish store for wild caught fish is just a convenience fee for not having to do this.

In the UK it somewhat depends on where you go: for example I can get a 2" L128 for £70 or a 6-7" one for half that somewhere else...

L046 = $138-158 for 5-6cm
LDA033 = $40-50 for 5-6cm
L134 = $30-40 for 5-6cm

But, may i ask, why does L134's price is cheaper than LDA033?
however, LDA033 can not be breed in aquarium.. so i think the price should be lower than L134..

All prices I gave are for pleco that I bought in israeli shop
All pleco above are in my tanks
Some of them are a little bit more expensive in the shop
I get a discount for buying a lot of pelco every time...( got two tanks with them...)
I will appreciate if you write down the price not in store, but the price you get it for..
I want to see if ater some Negotiation the difrrence in prices around the globe become minor

By the way...
In the last week i add 2 more pleco's
LDA31 - 15cm got him for free... Only 35$ :-p
L240 - 15 cm got him for 50$

im going to bring 3 more L014 ( 7cm ) i will update the price for them soon
1 more L27c...
1 L25
1 L24

Pic and prices soon as i can..

Sorry but that's some strange reasoning.
When we talk about wildcaught fish, the price has its origin in the amount of fish offered by local fishermen and the popularity (the demand for) among the wholesalers.
