Leptodoras juruenese

Post by Decker504 »

Got this obscure catfish from a vendor in New York. I bought it as another Leptodoras species but found out it was really juruense. Either way I feel lucky to have it. It has 8 whiskers/barbels and is very active.

Nice find!

This fish filters it's food so really needs to have a sand substrate. "Wrasse" has a group of these and has posted on a thread , information you may find useful to keep this fish long term
Lou: Every young man's fantasy is to have a three-way.
Jacob: Yeah not with another fu**!ng guy!
Lou: It's still a three-way!

I just got it so it is in a quarantine tank for now. Thanks for the info. I plan on getting some more and I will be sure to introduce them to a sand tank once I've treated them. I love this fish, so active and eating frozen brine and pellets.
