6x L190 group observation on feeding...

I currentl have 6 L190 in one tank. Hoping for a good sized colony, maybe 8 to 10 eventually.
(there are also other plecos in the same tank)

with the 6, i find that apart from their usual wood eating, some eat more than others, their belly is a nice rounded filled look. but some eat way more than others.

Do these guys grow quicker or male or bigger do you think?
any feedback, comments would be great!

I find this to be the case too. For about 4 years now I've kept a mixed group of Panaque nigrolineatus and Panaque cf. armbrusteri with sizes between 8cm-30cm. And out of the group there are two definite faster growers of each species with rest being roughly the same size. My largest and fastest growing P. nigro is now about 23cm/9" with another bought within 6 months at around 20cm/8".

This is 'George' my oldest and largest 'self grown'.



This was due to him being the most dominant and active of the group, although this has recently changed due to a rearrangement of wood and the sub dominant (but larger) P. armbrusteri 'xingu' seems to be the boss of the tank now.

funny, my tank is a 1200litre.

the royals tend to have so much 'wood space' that i never see them compete for space.
they are pretty chilled out, may change when bigger but we shall see, i dont foresee a problem.

i am interested to know who will grow fastest.

weird too, the largest one, i believe is a male, his patterns are changing. the lines breaking and curving, weird.

the other 2 medium sized one has quite fine lines, body is quite greeny almost goldy but thin fine lines. it almost has double theamount of lines as the others.
