Royal Plecos

Visited Tropiaquarium (nice store) in Ocean, NJ today. I broke my rule that I was not going to replace the plecos that were lost back in January. I always seem to break my rules when I am with my friend Tommy. They had them listed as L027. However after further looking at them I believe I have L191. They are 3 1/2 inches. I also picked up two Clown Plecos.

I'm not very good with Panaque species, but I agree that these are probably L191.

MatsP I agree. Matter of fact it is probably close to being a no brainer. But with plecos there are so many variants that with many it is not hard to confuse them.

Would agree with L191, probably the easiest 'Royal' to ID in reality

Good on ya for making the trip to Trop--my favorite LFS in NJ.

BTW, I don't think you have L191. I had bought a few Royal Plecos from Trop a few years ago and have them in a tank with a L191 and they do not look like it at all. I think the ones I got from them are L190 and the ones you got probably are too.
