I also want to inform you that when I agreed to buy the fish they sent me this picture
Today I have only 2 instances of this type of female and male.
CatFish clearly belong Baryantsistrus - I saw their "teeth" - scrapers for suckers.
I have a large collection of L-catfish - but I assure you - I can see the fish first time in 20 years, his hobby.

They called fish L020 ... I understand that this is a joke ... I am very interested in this fish .... I agreed to buy (I understand that this is a different catfish)

Hi,

looks like Baryancistrus sp. "L 19", which is from Xingú river, as well as Oligancistrus sp. "L 20". Additionaly L 19 grows larger than most other Baryancistrus, and yours are really large.

My idea - it Baryancistrus longipinnis

I know it came from the Rio Tocantins

I think the pictures in the catalog error - on the other pictures (Baryancistrus hanthellus) - I have a fish and his pictures of the river - they look like.
I have in my collection has grown Baryancistrus hanthellus from the rio Xingu and Rio Tocantins - they have the same body and differ in color.
See my photo of the Rio Tocantins and from the rio Xingu.

This would have been interesting in the beginning, cause it rules out L 19.
B. longipinnis is possible but also L 3, which it looks more alike.

Dear Colleagues, My question is cleared.
I asked my friend in Brazil - I was asked to clarify the exact location. He asked this question a person who is responsible angler. The answer was simple it is Rio Xingu. This fish L019 (no doubt). Adult photos in the catalog L019 Online - this is a mistake. I am willing to provide photos of adult couples later. After the quarantine - good quality photos

Hi,

it´s kind of confusing here. When I said L 19, you wrote it would be more likely a B. longipinnis and it would be from Rio Tocantins, now you say it is L 19 and suddenly it comes from Xingú.
You have no doubts now that it is L 19, so what did make you think it´s not when I said so?

There are 4 'species' of Baryancistrus that are known from Rio Tocantins.

It is of course possible that it's none of the above, because of one of the following:
1. It is not a known "species".
2. It is not actually from Rio Tocantins.
3. Another species occurs in Rio Tocantins, but we don't know about it.

(I use the term species in quotes, as L-numbers aren't species, but we sort of treat it as such).

Hi,

I made a mistake. In my order was all the fish from the Rio Tocantins. I thought that these fish also came from the Rio Tocantins.
When I began to have doubts - I asked my colleague from Brazil:
"From what river this fish?"
The answer I got another: "This fish is from the Rio Xingu"

When I was informed, "This fish is from the Rio Xingu" the answer was obvious - you were right - it is L019.

The information which has been proved wrong - so there were doubts about the identification.
