looks like Baryancistrus sp. "L 19", which is from Xingú river, as well as Oligancistrus sp. "L 20". Additionaly L 19 grows larger than most other Baryancistrus, and yours are really large.

I think the pictures in the catalog error - on the other pictures (Baryancistrus hanthellus) - I have a fish and his pictures of the river - they look like.
I have in my collection has grown Baryancistrus hanthellus from the rio Xingu and Rio Tocantins - they have the same body and differ in color.

it´s kind of confusing here. When I said L 19, you wrote it would be more likely a B. longipinnis and it would be from Rio Tocantins, now you say it is L 19 and suddenly it comes from Xingú.
You have no doubts now that it is L 19, so what did make you think it´s not when I said so?

There are 4 'species' of Baryancistrus that are known from Rio Tocantins.

Baryancistrus longipinnis

Baryancistrus niveatus

Baryancistrus sp(L003)

Baryancistrus sp(L084)

It is of course possible that it's none of the above, because of one of the following:
1. It is not a known "species".
2. It is not actually from Rio Tocantins.
3. Another species occurs in Rio Tocantins, but we don't know about it.

(I use the term species in quotes, as L-numbers aren't species, but we sort of treat it as such).

When I was informed, "This fish is from the Rio Xingu" the answer was obvious - you were right - it is L019.

The information which has been proved wrong - so there were doubts about the identification.
