Hello!

I'm from Germany and a "West Africa-Freak" (not only cichlids). Actually never focused on cats, but some months ago got some Chiloglanis and found them very interesting!

Cats I'm keeping now: 3 Synodontis sp. (probably hybrids, about 15 years old), 5 Microsynodontis sp. Malebo Pool, 4 L59a (L183???), 5 Chiloglanis cf. disneyi, Atopochilus cf. pachychilus (only one) and 5 Chiloglanis sp. (sold like Atopochilus). I hope to get some more Atopochilus next week and to find someone interested in unknown Chilos ^:)^ .

Welcome to PlanetCatfish!!

15 yr old synos may be from pre-hybrid days, would be worth putting up a picture for an ID.

As is your Microsynodontis I would like to see a photo of that regional variant.

Nice to see someone putting some focus on Chiloglanis.

thx! I have posted my Synodontis to the ID section. Microsynodontis pics coming tomorrow... at least I'll try to get them to the lence tomorrow. :)
Hope someone can help me ID the new Chiloglanis ("Atopochilus").

Hello Stan. Welcome to the forum. Nice cat's you have! How do you keep them?

I'm also a West Africa-Freak myself. So I'm wondering what other fish you have? :)

nice to see another WA-Freak :d .

Synodontis and L59a are in 720l with Cichlids.

Chiloglanis are living together with the african gobies Parasycidium bandama, as they all need a very strong current (at least 20-25x of tank volume). Have to make a new pic.

My other africans:

Tilapia buttikofferi (the rumors are Not true ;) )
Sarotherodon galilaeus multifasciatus
Konia eisentrauti
Hemichromis sp. Ankasa
Benitochromis finleyi Mungo Blue
Phenacogrammus interruptus
"Neolebias unifasciatus" (may be Nannaethiops unilineatus ? - you buy cute 3-4cm "Neolebias" and then they are growing and growing and...)
Ctenopoma pellegrinii
Microctenopoma fasciolatum
Microctenopoma cf. congicum

Nice tank! And really special fishes. Especially the (micro)ctenopoma species! The pellegrinii i've had even never heard of...

@all: Thank you! :)

@rommer: pellegrinii is one of three "real" Ctenopoma species and most closely related to South African genus Sandelia. They look very elongated. Not a beauty, but a very lively, fast and curious fish for tanks with good water flow. I like them very much!
