Re: Picky jau???
In the process of getting a fish to eat dry food, a week isn't really that long...

Re: Picky jau???
In the wild, these fish put on an amount of body bulk quite quickly when these are small & they will do this by eating food high in protein - ie, fish, shrimp, worms etc. These sort of things are best and prepared foods like pellets etc may take many months to be accepted - even stuff like massivore pellets which are considered excellent for large carnivorous fish species

Re: Picky jau???
Agree with Richard. Many months is subjective, though. Still, my ZZ's, 8" (with me 0.5 year) and 15" (with me 2 years), still ignore pellets and relish anything meaty. Meaty of aquatic origin, needless to say. Yet, I've never purposefully tried to break them/wean them onto the pellets/etc. I simply throw pellets (various kinds tried) in first. Others eat. They ignore. I throw fish/shrimp/etc. - they go into a feeding frenzy.
Sorubims, TSNs are the same, IME (other keepers say theirs take dry foods). RTCs and Leiarius longibarbis and L. pictus differ - those usually will go for anything edible. TSNxRTC hybrids are in between but more TSN-like.

Re: Picky jau???
Yeah I too will back up Richard & Victors comments.
allot of these predatory Cats can take several months or longer before switching onto dried foodstuffs.
Depends also what other inhabitants are in the aquaria as other fish can act as trigger fish in getting them to take dried foodstuffs for example - learning by assosication.
My 2 Zungaro 4" & 6" respectively also refuse dried 95% of the time but they will occasionally take Mascivore.
Their main diet is large prawns, pieces of white fish & Big Earthworms.
Too be honest Im not at all bothered that they do not take dried.
