Price of fish is one of those things that are quite difficult to determine. In the case of these fish get quite big, and when you see large ones in shops, they are usually quite expensive. This is because shipping costs are split over only a few fish (often just one per box - so the cost of the box and the cost of transporting the box on the plane from South America to Europe all has to be covered by that one fish). The actual cost of the fish at the exporters can often be about the same (say 25-50% more for XXL than the L size), but because when you order the L fish, the exporter puts, say, 10 fish in a box, the cost for that box to get to Europe is split over 10 fish.
I've seen large Panaque in the region of £200-300.
