C. cf aeneus but what about the stripe?

Post by Biulu »

This fish came in with a batch of c. arcuatus. The body is currently 2 cm and with the tail it would be almost 3. It is clearly a juvenile. Some people have suggested c. arcuatus but the body colour is much more pink than my real skunks, which are cream white. Plus what about the 'extra' stripe underneath? The stripes are not true black, more greenish as displayed in the pictures.

Thanks for your help!

Although the fish is just swimming away and not in focus, you can clearly see the stripe on both sides.

This could be, but a male then as it doesn't have any dots like females do.

Thanks Ian! What makes you think it is a female? In all the pictures of females I saw, they have more black on their flanks than just the stripes, whereas the males seem to have the second stripe...

It is C. elegans and looks to be a young female.

Coryman, the Cat-eLog links (clog tags) don't work when you abbreviate the genus name. It needs to be full.
