My L129 tank

Post by Coco »

hello everybody
I think it is my first post in the forum :d
in first a little presentation: I'm 18 years old, I have 2 aquarium of south america fish, a 200L and a 45L and 2 terrarium. I study biologie in a highschool.
Now the tank's presentation:
45x30x30cm, the filtration is a Eheim Ecco 300l/h, a Eheim pump of 300l/h for the wave.
The sand and the piece of wood with the moss come from a rivier near I live, and the stones come from the swiss Alps
There are 2 hypancistrus debillitera sp L129 in the tank.
I want to try the reproduction

Hello ,

Nice tank and setup. My thoughts are, to me the sand layer is too thick , just make sure during water change you stir this up to stop dead areas with buildup and maybe add some caves for the L129 to go into. Good luck cheers jk b-)
I am not perfect, but I say as I see it. Smile and enjoy Life

Hi,
nice setup. But please remember. Breeding Hypancistrus in such a small tank has many risks. If you habe to feed the fry, water conditions could get worse very quickly. L 129 is easy to bread, but I think the tank is a little bit too small.

Good point. I concur. I think 2x this tank size would be better once you have fry. The adults will be fine, but with frequent feeding, you could be asking for trouble.
