Short-cut to Cat-E-Log

Post by kateswan »

Is it just me? When I'm in the forum there seems to be no
quick link to get to the Cat-E-Log. I have to jump back
to the home page.

A short-cut would be nice!

Use the toolbar on top of the home page.

Tool bar? What tool bar . . .

Okay, it is just me. On a Mac, with a preferred Netscape
browser, there is no tool bar.

Load up the dread/despised IE, and there's a tool bar.

Kathy,

I use a Mac, too, as do several others on this forum (Dinyar, Rusty...).

Are you using OS 9 or OS X? I find that if you use Netscape 7.0 in OS 9, you need to download an updated java plugin to get the toolbar thing to work.

I used Netscape 7.0 in OS 9 in the past, but have since switched to Safari in OS X.

I'm still in OS9, dragging my feet on OSX,
and I'm also still using Netscape 6.

My newest Mac, one of the last G4s, came packaged with OSX,
and Communicator. Where did you pick up Safari?

Safari is a free download from Apple's website (go to Support and then Downloads). Alternatively, you can just run Software Update after installing OS X and it will allow you to download and install Safari automatically.

If you want to stick to OS 9, I suggest upgrading to Netscape 7.0. IME, it's more stable and snappier.

Don't forget about 10.3, which comes out today. You can probably get it for $20 considering your Mac is quite new.

On another note, see this thread. That dinosaur of a Java applet is soon to be replaced by a much snappier and java-less DHTML script.

If I can get the darn thing to work with the cat-elog frames which is NOT looking good right now.
