Newbie Here
Newbie Here
I just joined this site, and have a question about my Gold Stripe Plecos( ). I have noticed them(3) going to the top of my aquarium and it seems like they are taking in some air. Is this possible, or should I be concerned. I have done a 50% water change within the last few days. Hope I can find an answer.

Re: Newbie Here
Hi Oldman60,
Welcome along.
Yes, you should be concerned if they are doing this regularly. Suggest you open a new topic in the loricariid (pleco) forum with a representative subject/title and I think the help will come in. Suggest you post a bit more about the set-up especially filtration and temp. If you can, add an airstone or two ASAP.
We'll keep this topic on just for saying "hello"!
Cheers,
Jools

Plecs going to top for air?
I added another airstone to the tank, and things seem to be okay with my gold stripe plecs. I think I may have had the water to high in the tank, and the hood might have not let in enough air. Will let all know what happens. Thanks for the fast replies

Re: Newbie Here
I had a chocolate plec' who used to love swimming from the bottom & spinning at the top, flipping his tail out as he dived back down (big whale style). You could hear him going off in the next room - SLOP!!
But I agree with advice above - Hello
