I like the look of the pieces of tile on the arch

if you put some grout in-between the tiles it would look like a rock arch

Yeah, I pondered that too. Both with grout and without grout have their advantages. The PermAquarium has the floor and the bottom of the walls grouted wherever tiled - so you can compare. Grouting of the three arches would take at least 40-80 h of work - so I opted out

Victor did you realy leave all that art in NY?

Yes, it is pretty much immobilized and a part of the house for sale now. It was and still is hard, especially for my better half who cannot let go. It definitely feels like we left a piece of our heart and soul in there and, hence, I prefer not to think about it to be strong for the both of us. One cryer per family is enough

Now, you are wa-a-ay too generous but I appreciate your encouragement! Genius is Monet, Dali, Michelangelo, and Co. This? This is a primitive artistic skill plus, indeed, a truckload of patience.

Now that's one cool idea we missed. Indeed, this experiment promises to provide for a mystical, mesmerizing scenery.

All the materials you saw - glass gems, river rocks, pieces of tile, and seashells and Co were glued with a thin-set mortar mix - you can buy a premixed 2.5 gal, short bucket of it from Home Depot or Lowe's for $40. The whole bathroom used about one bucket, most of it on the floor, of course, for strength.

This stuff sticks to anything - wood, metal, drywall, paint, etc. It is like a high quality concrete mix but lacking the fine stone and any other crude inclusions.

I find it extremely handy to have in a household. On par with the most powerful secret weapon of any handyman - duct tape.
