Post by Viktor Jarikov »

Hi Sergey! Nice photos and wonderful fish. Sorry, I am not a pleco person but I am sure someone will get back to you soon. Welcome back! Looks like you have not used your account for a while and then you email changed over - I got tripped up by such circumstance before, not here but other places. Good luck!

Some new video of my L181 juveniles. (Double click will add soundtrack to initial aqua noise) At 3rd week (25.11.10) they were placed to common tank with Discuses. They are 29 days old at the moment.

Feel good. Some of them are around 3 sm. Growing very fast. I feed them by tetra discus powder.
Parents are going to do the new clutch. I bring them excellent ceramic caves from Denmark. Thanks to people provided links to local pet shops! L-cats there was not so interesting there but accessories are good.

I hope they (L181) are happy with my presents and will continue Job with 101% efficiency, last results are around 99,95% =D

Thanks Viktor! I'm tired a little now. They are so aggressively trying to breed.I need to change water more carefully (not more than 10% of tank) to prevent some undesirable spawning now ))Sometimes it is no to much convenient time for my private live and business. I have to left home for 2 weeks soon and don’t know how to care about new babies. There are a lot of new yellow "worms" in apart tank.
As I understood Stars are not too bloody fighters. At the moment all my mature fishes living in love&peace and like to stay in one place of aquarium like colony. I’m dreaming to obtain few pairs of original wild L183, maybe this trip I will find some of them in Europe. Last effort was unsuccessful.

By the way – Congratilations with another Eve, NY by old calendar! Best wishes to you and your family! Hope to see your wonderful nature-architectural creations some day

Regards,
Sergey

Thanks, Sergey. Same to you and yours (for those who don't know, Russians cannot have too many celebrations, so, in addition to Jan 1, they also attempt to celebrate the New Year (Jan 14) according to the old style calendar)...

Good idea

For who likes new years, the chinese, the Muslims, the Jews have their own calender, and i'm quite certain, many more peoples / religions have further calenders

Perhaps a new year party every month? =))

I am afraid, again, requires an explanation. Feb 23rd (tomorrow!) for 70 some years was the Red Army and then Soviet Armed Forces day. Also, always carried the spirit of a man's holiday, as opposed to the women's day of Mar 8.

Maybe more appropriately referred to as a zygote at this stage of development. Embryo will be the next stage.

Your was right. Now stage of caviar came to embryo/fry. But number of normal eggs reduced significantly. How to protect fries form mold fungus? Methylene blue was useless...
