Ancistrus ranunculus?

Post by StainesCatfish »

Hi all,
We have just had three of these BNCs dropped off that are now unwanted.
The fish appears to be much darker than in the picture (i apologise for the blurry image). I'm thinking an ? The male has a full set of tubercles at around 12cm TL.
What do you think it is?
Thanks
Harry

Thanks Silurus. I thought it may be but i thought the head appeared quite stumpy compared to the cirrhosus. I'll go and have another check. Thanks :)

I agree 100%

The fish in the picture has spots within the fins, which I have not seen the patterning in the picture in canunculus before...
