nice to see a notification on this "old" topic...
the fishes are doing fine
as I had to remove their 160 liters tank to build the
Potamotrygon inside "pond", they took place into the 720 liters together with
Pterophyllum altum for a while.
here are a few pictures of the 2 biggest... the third is only outside for feeding time...
they finally got used to several foods : nori leaves (the first weeks, it was impossible to feed them with something else), Hikari algae wafers chips, Tetra Diskus, and spirulina chips "flamand vert" (which is a dietical trademark for humans). A delicatessen is
Gammarus, even if they are not fast enough considering the Altums to get too much... But they love it.
Considering their new feeding habits, I don't have any more problems of "skinny belly" for a few months... The point is to give food 3 to 5 times a day, as they really are "feeding machines"
The "big tank" should be ready in September. Then, I'll be able to lighten the fish charge into the 720 liters (actually housing too much fishes, waiting for the big one to be ready). I'll try to find 3-5 Pterosturisoma to join these 3, as I'm not convinced about sexing...
the same 2 fishes, quite similar in size, but I (wish to) see a difference in genital papilla :
the Potamotrygon adventure has begun...
